Mayo Well-Being Index

Over 100 faculty have responded to our recent wellness survey, with the mean self-assessed score of burnout hovering around 50 on a scale of 1-100.  The OFD is analyzing your answers regarding key factors contributing to work stress, as well as suggestions for ameliorating those factors.  We will produce a report shortly.  You may still take that survey at this link.

Please watch for an email containing a link to the Mayo Wellbeing Index, coming in the next month.  This index is a validated system of assessing physician wellness, also being readied for use by the GME Wellness office to assess wellness in our trainees.  Data from an individual’s survey will be available to the individual immediately, along with resources applicable to areas of risk flagged by the index results.  An individual’s data will not be identifiable to Washington University, but aggregate data for the department will be available.  You may take the Mayo WBI more than once if you choose.  Currently, the Offices of Faculty Development in Pediatrics and in Internal Medicine plan to pilot use of this index, which may then be adopted by other departments.

In addition, on the OFD website a list of mental health providers who are currently accepting patients (some adult, some pediatric) is posted, thanks to the Division of Adolescent Medicine.

The OFD has developed a brochure outlining current department and university wellness programs and benefits that can be accessed at this link or on our website.  Hard copy brochures are also available from the OFD for divisions wishing to include them in recruitment or onboarding packets.

Lastly, please see our listings of offerings for faculty wellness coming up, including a book club, chair massage, and happy hours.
