New CEP and CV Guidelines

 The Executive Faculty has updated the Wash U CV format to include information that Peds has been including on the CEP. We encourage all faculty, but especially those who expect to go up for promotion in the next 12 months, to attend one of our summer workshops. We would also ask all administrative assistants who wish to learn, but especially those who have attended our earlier training’s to attend.

Cross-Cultural Verbal and Written Communication

Presented by Karen Schwelle, Director, English Language Program, WUSTL

Do you find what you say or do is misunderstood or do you misunderstand others resulting in conflict? Learn to recognize cultural differences and underlying assumptions; to suspend judgement about individuals; to improve skills to work through communication missteps.
Do you need help with your written scientific communication? This workshop will also introduce you to InPrint-a free resource to all for scientific editing. Ideal for those in which English is your second language. Please Register Here by June 17. Breakfast will be served.

Fall 2019 Education Skills Workshop Series

The goals of this program are to enhance skills as educators, to develop longitudinal peer networking and mentoring opportunities, to create productive education interest groups and to enhance the culture of education within our department. Many top journals reject manuscripts without review because the research results are not correctly reported at submission. This session will teach how to avoid this by demonstrating the correct way to communicate results-at-a-glance for initial editorial review.
