In the past, you may have heard Scott Rich discuss WU IT’s Secure WUSM initiatives and, in particular, the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) project. There have been a few pilots to verify the functionality of the product. The oversight committee has approved the implementation of the DLP security alert feature effective July 13 for all WUSM issued desktop and laptop devices.
The new Security Alert will appear anytime you save, upload, or move sensitive information to:
Please visit the WUSM Secure website or the Digital Guardian Alert Prompt Handout (PDF) for more information.
There will be a communication campaign about this from the WU Security team starting on Wednesday, July 6, but your IT team wanted to give you a “heads up” that this will be forthcoming on July 13.
Let Scott Rich know if you have any questions. You can also send your questions via email to MedITSecurity@email.wustl.edu as well.
